Who We Are

Trent Witham Books is an independent publisher of history books, based beside the River Trent on the border of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. We specialise in the stories that don’t always make it into the textbooks — the hidden histories of local people, places, and faith that have shaped this corner of England for centuries.

Our Foundation Author

Our first and foundational author is Adrian Gray, a Cambridge-educated historian with over 30 books to his name on local and national topics. He has spent decades uncovering the hidden stories of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire — from the scandalous lives of the Sherwood nobility to the turbulent history of Christianity across the region. Alongside his writing, Adrian works as a heritage consultant and leads tours with Pilgrims & Prophets Christian Heritage Tours. He gives regular talks to history societies, local groups, and community organisations across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire — bringing the past to life for anyone curious enough to listen. If you'd like to know when Adrian is speaking near you, follow us on Facebook or sign up to our mailing list below.

Writing for Trent Witham Books

We occasionally publish books by other authors. If you have a serious proposal, we’d love to hear from you — though we’ll want to know not just about your book, but how you plan to get it in front of readers. For local and regional history, being an engaging public speaker matters as much as being a good writer.
